First Visit
Your initial appointment will be a 30-minute consultation focused on explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. In most cases, surgery is not performed on the same day as the consultation. Following this visit, our front office will provide a financial treatment plan outlining the next steps. If you have a complex medical history or require a more intricate treatment approach, an additional evaluation may be necessary, with a subsequent surgery at a later date.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the consultation visit and surgical visits.
A preoperative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients undergoing IV sedation for surgery. Patients utilizing IV sedation should have nothing to eat or drink for at least seven hours prior to your surgery. Patients will also need an adult to drive them home after surgery.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Surgical Referral Slip & X-Rays – If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If additional imaging is needed, we can take them at our facility.
- Current Medications & Medical Conditions – Bring a list of all medications you are taking. Please notify our office if you have any medical conditions that may affect your surgery, such as diabetes, heart disease, or artificial heart valves and joints. Additionally, let us know if you are taking medications like aspirin, heart medications, anticoagulants (blood thinners) or any medications meant to treat osteoporosis.
- Dental & Medical Insurance Information – If you have dental or medical insurance, please provide your documentation before your appointment. This helps streamline the process and ensures efficient claim assistance. Most of our procedures are billing through your dental insurance.
